The road back from Lahnus

The way out is the arrival in reverse: down the resort road to Vihdintie, south to Ring III, then east along the ring road to the terminal — around forty minutes in ordinary traffic, with no city centre at any point. Ring III is the only real variable, thickening at commuting hours on weekday mornings and afternoons, so a Tuesday pickup is planned with a little more room than a Sunday one. In winter the first kilometres on Vihdintie are an ordinary snow-covered Finnish road, driven on winter tyres by people who cover it every week of the season.

Where the car waits, and the wet swimwear

Give us the building rather than the destination: the main entrance at Tornimäentie 10, the Serena Ski side of the hill in winter, Hotel Korpilampi four hundred metres away, or a cottage on the grounds. The driver comes to that door at the agreed time and loads there — the parking area is large, and a leisure complex is a poor place to be hunting for a car with tired children in tow.

Departure day almost always ends with a last swim, so pack a bag for the wet towels and swimwear before you check out — it is the one piece of packing this route always needs. Child seats are fitted before the car reaches you, on request and subject to availability and a possible extra charge: contact us before booking the departure leg with the children's ages, exactly as for the arrival.

Using the last day rather than losing it

Plenty of families keep the final morning: swim, check out, and have the car collect you in the afternoon with the luggage already loaded. It works because the drive is short and the route avoids Helsinki entirely, so an afternoon or evening flight stays comfortable. What does not work is expecting a taxi to appear at Lahnus at short notice — this is forest-edge Espoo with no rail connection, and cars do not cruise past looking for fares. Book the departure when you book the arrival and the whole day plans itself.
