The car comes to the hotel entrance on Katajanokanlaituri, on the quay itself, and the first few minutes of the drive matter more than all the rest. Katajanokka is an island district, and the roads off it funnel past the Uspenski Cathedral into the city grid before the route turns north for the airport. Once clear of that, the run is straightforward — which is why the pickup is planned around the hour of your flight rather than around the distance on the map.
The first is a ferry morning. The Viking Line terminal is the hotel's immediate neighbour, and when a ship docks the quay road outside fills with coaches, cars and walking passengers within minutes. If your pickup falls in that window, we simply start earlier.
The second is a congress morning. The Marina Congress Center next door runs events for up to 2,500 guests, and when one closes several hundred people want a car from the same entrance inside the same half hour. A booked car is already standing at the door with your name on it; the alternative is that queue.
The hotel front faces open water, and the wind coming off the harbour in winter is the reason nobody waits outside for long. Stay in the lobby — the driver stops at the entrance and comes in for the luggage, so the walk to the car is a few metres with your bags carried.
If your flight is late in the day, the departure leg can carry a stop on the way. The Market Square is a few minutes along the waterfront, the SkyWheel and the Allas Sea Pool are beside it, and the Suomenlinna ferry leaves from the same stretch of harbour. Add the stop in the booking form and it becomes part of the same journey instead of a separate errand.
The drive from Scandic Grand Marina to Helsinki Airport is about 20 km and takes around 25 minutes in normal traffic. Add the two hours the airport asks for international departures and the whole morning plans itself: about 2 h 25 min from your door to your gate. We watch the morning traffic and the weather, and if your flight moves, the pickup moves with it.
Your driver arrives at the address you give — hotel entrance, office, private house or the port — helps with the luggage and drives straight to the departures level of Terminal 2. The fare was agreed when you booked, and it does not change if the traffic does.
One price for the car, not per person. All taxes included, agreed when you book — nothing added afterwards.
The local operator, start to finish. We assign the car ourselves, the driver is one of ours, and the fixed price you see is our own price. If anything changes on the morning of the flight, one WhatsApp message reaches the person who assigns the cars.
Room for the luggage. Three passengers and three suitcases travel in the Business Sedan (Mercedes-Benz E-Class or similar); larger groups take the Business Van (Mercedes-Benz Vito, up to eight) or the Business Minibus (Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, up to fifteen), and for 16 and more we arrange a coach on request — so nobody travels separately from their bags.
