Leaving Yrjönkatu for the airport

Hotel St. George is about 20 km from the terminal, 25 to 30 minutes in normal traffic. Add the two hours for an international departure and an 08:00 flight means the car is on Yrjönkatu at about 05:35 — at that hour Kamppi is quiet and the run north is fast. Departures caught by the late-afternoon peak, roughly four to six, want an extra fifteen minutes, and we plan for it rather than hope. Give us the flight number when you book the departure and we will set the pickup time ourselves.

Where the driver waits, opposite the park

The pickup point is the hotel entrance on Yrjönkatu, facing Old Church Park — the same door that leads in past Ai Weiwei's kite in the lobby. Kamppi is a working city district with buses, cycle lanes and deliveries on every street in the morning, so the driver stops at the door, loads there and leaves; nobody walks cases across the square to find a car. If a group is breaking up after an event in the Wintergarden, we bring several vehicles to that same door on one schedule.

Using the last morning

A hotel built around wellbeing rewards an unhurried departure. St George Care — the pool, sauna and gym — is the sensible way to spend the hour before a midday flight, and the bakery at street level handles breakfast on the way out. In winter the park across the road is dark and the pavements slippery at seven in the morning, which is exactly when a car already waiting at the door is worth more than any timetable.
