Rauma to the airport is about 240 km and close to three hours: south along the coast towards the Turku area, then east on Highway 1 (E18) and up the ring road to the terminal. It is the same road in both directions, and the departure direction is the easier one — the E18 carries its heaviest morning load towards Turku rather than away from it, and the airport turn-off comes before Helsinki's own traffic begins. Traffic is generally light for most of the length once you are clear of the two city ends. Because there is no direct train and the coach takes four to five hours with a change, a booked car is not simply the more comfortable option on this route; for an early flight it is usually the only one that works at all.
The Old Town is a lived-in wooden quarter of narrow, curving, partly pedestrianised streets, and cobblestones and wheeled suitcases make a poor pair. Parking inside it is limited, so the car comes as close to your accommodation as the streets allow and the driver walks the last few metres for the bags rather than leaving you to drag them out to a car park. If you are staying in one of the houses inside the quarter, give the street name and door number in the booking form; if you are in the modern centre, the pickup is at the hotel entrance.
A morning flight out of Helsinki means leaving Rauma in the small hours, and that is routine for us: we drive around the clock and the road is empty at that time. Two things are worth booking well ahead for. The end of July, when Lace Week and the Blues Festival fill the town and every car in it. And the winter months, when the west coast can have entirely different weather from Helsinki and conditions change faster on the shore than they do inland — our drivers treat that as normal operating conditions rather than an exception, and the pickup time is set with it in mind.
The drive from Rauma to Helsinki Airport is about 240 km and takes around 180 minutes in normal traffic. Add the two hours the airport asks for international departures and the whole morning plans itself: about 5 h from your door to your gate. We watch the morning traffic and the weather, and if your flight moves, the pickup moves with it.
Your driver arrives at the address you give — hotel entrance, office, private house or the port — helps with the luggage and drives straight to the departures level of Terminal 2. There is no meter running while you load the bags, and the fare does not change if the traffic does.
One price for the car, not per person. All taxes included, agreed when you book — no meter, and nothing added afterwards.
The local operator, start to finish. We assign the car ourselves, the driver is one of ours, and the fixed price you see is our own price. If anything changes on the morning of the flight, one WhatsApp message reaches the person who assigns the cars.
Room for the luggage. Three passengers and three suitcases travel in the Business Sedan (Mercedes-Benz E-Class or similar); larger groups take the Business Van (Mercedes-Benz Vito, up to eight) or the Business Minibus (Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, up to fifteen), and for 16 and more we arrange a coach on request — so nobody travels separately from their bags.
