It is a steady trunk road rather than a motorway for most of its length, so the timing is predictable and what changes it is weather rather than traffic. For an early flight this is a night departure: the car comes to the door well before dawn, the road at that hour is empty, and your driver will have checked the forecast for the Satakunta stretch before setting out.

Pickups from the beach, the ports and the arena side

Pori is more spread out than its centre suggests, and the extra kilometres all sit on the pickup side. Yyteri and the spa hotel above the beach are some 17 km out on the peninsula; Reposaari is further still, at the end of the causeway; the harbours at Mäntyluoto and Tahkoluoto add a run of their own.
