It is about 265 km from Jyväskylä to Helsinki Airport, and the drive takes close to three hours: south out of the lake city through southern Central Finland and Häme on Highway 4, most of it open, steady road. With the two hours the airport asks for an international departure, allow the best part of five hours from your door to the gate — an eight o'clock morning flight means a pickup at about three in the morning, while a two o'clock afternoon flight is a comfortable nine o'clock start with breakfast first. There is no direct train from the city to the terminal, so the alternative is a change at Tikkurila with all your luggage; the car is the version of the journey you can sleep through.
We collect from wherever the stay actually ends. That may be a hotel in the compact centre or down at Lutakko Harbour, the university campus at Seminaarinmäki, a lakeside cottage outside town, or one of the Aalto sites away from the middle — Säynätsalo Town Hall is some 15 km out and Muurame Church further again, and neither is a place to look for a car on a Sunday morning. Give us the address when you book and the driver comes to it.
This route runs inland, and it sees snow earlier and heavier than the coast; in January a three-hour drive can want a little more, so we set the pickup with that in mind and check the forecast the night before. At the turn of July and August, Rally Finland fills the city, its hotels and the roads around it, and departures that week should be booked well ahead — as should autumn weekends during City of Light, when around a hundred thousand visitors come for the illuminated city.
The drive from Jyväskylä to Helsinki Airport is about 265 km and takes around 175 minutes in normal traffic. Add the two hours the airport asks for international departures and the whole morning plans itself: about 4 h 55 min from your door to your gate. We watch the morning traffic and the weather, and if your flight moves, the pickup moves with it.
Your driver arrives at the address you give — hotel entrance, office, private house or the port — helps with the luggage and drives straight to the departures level of Terminal 2. There is no meter running while you load the bags, and the fare does not change if the traffic does.
One price for the car, not per person. All taxes included, agreed when you book — no meter, and nothing added afterwards.
The local operator, start to finish. We assign the car ourselves, the driver is one of ours, and the fixed price you see is our own price. If anything changes on the morning of the flight, one WhatsApp message reaches the person who assigns the cars.
Room for the luggage. Three passengers and three suitcases travel in the Business Sedan (Mercedes-Benz E-Class or similar); larger groups take the Business Van (Mercedes-Benz Vito, up to eight) or the Business Minibus (Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, up to fifteen), and for 16 and more we arrange a coach on request — so nobody travels separately from their bags.
