Mikkeli to Helsinki Airport is about 226 km and roughly two and a half hours: Highway 5 south-west through Hirvensalmi and Pertunmaa down to Heinola, then the Lahti motorway (Highway 4 / E75) straight to the airport, which sits on the northern edge of the capital so the car never has to enter Helsinki itself. That matters more on the way out than on the way in — the queue that builds on the Lahti motorway is the one heading into the city, and you leave it behind at the airport turn-off. For a morning flight the car comes to your door in the dark and the road is empty the whole way. The one stretch worth extra margin is Sunday afternoon in July, when the cottage country drives home at once and Highway 5 south of Mikkeli runs slowly in exactly your direction.
Town pickups are the simple ones: the Original Sokos Hotel Vaakuna and Scandic Mikkeli stand a minute or two apart by the market square, and the car waits at the entrance. The addresses that deserve a line in the booking notes are the others — Anttolanhovi and the villas on the Saimaa shore, Kyyhkylä and Tertti manors, and the rented cottages down gravel lanes in Anttola, Ristiina, Hirvensalmi, Puumala and Haukivuori. Give us the road name and whatever last instruction the owner sent you: which fork, which jetty, whose name is on the post. A lane that was easy to find in daylight when you arrived looks very different at five in the morning.
From November to March you leave in full darkness, the lanes around the lakes are snow-covered, and the smallest roads are often ploughed last. We build that into the pickup time rather than into anything else: the driver starts earlier, the car is warm when you get in, and the fixed figure agreed at booking is the one that stands. If your flight is a long-haul connection through Helsinki, tell us the whole itinerary when you book and we will set the departure from the first flight rather than the second.
The drive from Mikkeli to Helsinki Airport is about 226 km and takes around 150 minutes in normal traffic. Add the two hours the airport asks for international departures and the whole morning plans itself: about 4 h 30 min from your door to your gate. We watch the morning traffic and the weather, and if your flight moves, the pickup moves with it.
Your driver arrives at the address you give — hotel entrance, office, private house or the port — helps with the luggage and drives straight to the departures level of Terminal 2. There is no meter running while you load the bags, and the fare does not change if the traffic does.
One price for the car, not per person. All taxes included, agreed when you book — no meter, and nothing added afterwards.
The local operator, start to finish. We assign the car ourselves, the driver is one of ours, and the fixed price you see is our own price. If anything changes on the morning of the flight, one WhatsApp message reaches the person who assigns the cars.
Room for the luggage. Three passengers and three suitcases travel in the Business Sedan (Mercedes-Benz E-Class or similar); larger groups take the Business Van (Mercedes-Benz Vito, up to eight) or the Business Minibus (Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, up to fifteen), and for 16 and more we arrange a coach on request — so nobody travels separately from their bags.
