Katajanokka is a starting point as often as it is a destination: the Stockholm cruise ferries tie up at Katajanokanlaituri in the early morning, and the Tallinn crossing lands passengers here through the day, so a great many departures from this quay are people going straight on to a flight. From the terminal the airport is about 22 km, roughly 30 minutes in normal traffic. A flight at 08:00 means leaving Katajanokka around 05:30 and a midday flight around 09:30 — both quiet hours on the harbour road. Late afternoon is the one window to pad: between roughly 15:00 and 17:00 the routes out of the centre carry the evening rush, so we add margin rather than shave it.
We pick up at Katajanokanlaituri 8, on the forecourt of the Viking Line terminal building, as close to the doors as vehicles are allowed to stand. If you are leaving from an address in the district rather than the terminal, agree the exact corner with us when you book: the peninsula's streets carry the tram tracks of lines 4 and 5, several of the Art Nouveau blocks have no useful kerb of their own, and naming the doorway saves a lap of the block on a morning when you are watching the clock.
Ships dock long before most flights leave, and that gap is worth planning rather than sitting out in the terminal. The bags go into the car in one load off the ship, and if the flight is hours away the car can be booked by the hour instead: the Market Square, the Old Market Hall, Uspenski Cathedral and the Allas Sea Pool are all within a few minutes of the quay, the luggage stays where it is, and the same driver takes you on to the departures level of Terminal 2 when the morning is done. A whole cabin party and its cases leave together instead of splitting up on the quay.
The drive from Katajanokka to Helsinki Airport is about 22 km and takes around 30 minutes in normal traffic. Add the two hours the airport asks for international departures and the whole morning plans itself: about 2 h 30 min from your door to your gate. We watch the morning traffic and the weather, and if your flight moves, the pickup moves with it.
Your driver arrives at the address you give — hotel entrance, office, private house or the port — helps with the luggage and drives straight to the departures level of Terminal 2. The fare was agreed when you booked, and it does not change if the traffic does.
One price for the car, not per person. All taxes included, agreed when you book — nothing added afterwards.
The local operator, start to finish. We assign the car ourselves, the driver is one of ours, and the fixed price you see is our own price. If anything changes on the morning of the flight, one WhatsApp message reaches the person who assigns the cars.
Room for the luggage. Three passengers and three suitcases travel in the Business Sedan (Mercedes-Benz E-Class or similar); larger groups take the Business Van (Mercedes-Benz Vito, up to eight) or the Business Minibus (Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, up to fifteen), and for 16 and more we arrange a coach on request — so nobody travels separately from their bags.
Flying in as well? The airport pickup for this route: Helsinki Airport to Katajanokka from €107 — that direction includes meet & greet inside arrivals with a name sign, flight tracking and 60 minutes of free waiting. Book both legs at once; each is priced for its own date and time. Every destination we drive is listed with distance, time and price in our transfers table, and the full fare list by vehicle class is on the prices page.
Disembarkation morning empties a whole ship onto the quay at once, and the taxi queue outside Katajanokka peaks at exactly that moment. A car booked in advance is already waiting, with room for cruise-sized suitcases, and we follow the ship's actual arrival rather than the printed timetable. All four quays, the hourly hire for a day ashore before your flight and the fixed fares are on our Helsinki cruise port transfer page.
