Groups at Helsinki Airport: The Right Vehicle for Any Size
Groups plan by headcount and then discover the boot. Six travellers with six suitcases, a hockey team with stick tubes, a delegation landing on three different flights — each needs a different vehicle, and none of them is a car found at the rank. Here is how the sizes actually work out, and what it costs.
AI-generated illustration. There is no group we turn away for being too large. A couple travels in a sedan, a family in a van, fifteen in a minibus, and above that in a coach — one vehicle, one fixed price, one driver waiting inside arrivals with your name on a sign. What follows is how to pick the right one, and when splitting the party across several cars is genuinely the better idea rather than a compromise.
The short answer
- Up to 3 passengers — the Business Sedan (Mercedes-Benz E-Class or similar), or the First Class (Mercedes-Benz S-Class) when the arrival matters.
- 4 to 6 — the First Class Van (Mercedes-Benz V-Class): individual seats, a table, room to face each other.
- Up to 8 — the Business Van (Mercedes-Benz Vito), the workhorse for families and teams with real luggage.
- 9 to 15 — the Business Minibus (Mercedes-Benz Sprinter), booked online like every other class — usually instantly, sometimes after a confirmation.
- 16 and more — a midibus or a coach, arranged on request through the contact page.
- Several vehicles — a choice you can make at any size, not a fallback we impose.
What each vehicle holds
Every fare below is for the whole vehicle, not per person, and covers the run between Helsinki Airport and the city centre. Airport pickups include meet and greet inside arrivals, flight tracking and 60 minutes of free waiting from the moment you land.
| Group | What you book | Luggage | To / from the airport |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 to 3 | Business Sedan (Mercedes-Benz E-Class or similar) | 3 suitcases | from €99 / from €107 |
| Up to 8 | Business Van (Mercedes-Benz Vito) | 8 large suitcases | from €103 / from €127 |
| 4 to 6 | First Class Van (Mercedes-Benz V-Class) | 6 suitcases | from €140 |
| 9 to 15 | Business Minibus (Mercedes-Benz Sprinter) | Space for the whole group | from €202 |
| 1 to 3 | First Class (Mercedes-Benz S-Class) | 3 suitcases | from €194 |
| 16 and more | Midibus or coach | Space for the whole group | Price on request |
Every class is priced by the date and hour of the pickup — so rather than quote a figure that ages badly, the booking form shows the exact price for your date and time before you commit. Every route we drive is listed with distance, drive time and price in one table, and the full fare list by class is on the prices page.

Seats are the number people count; suitcases are the number that breaks the plan in the car park. The real capacities:
- Business Sedan (Mercedes-Benz E-Class or similar) — 3 passengers, 3 suitcases. Not three suitcases plus cabin bags on laps; three suitcases.
- First Class Van (Mercedes-Benz V-Class) — 6 passengers, 6 suitcases, two individual seats (with or without a table) and a three-seat bench.
- Business Van (Mercedes-Benz Vito) — 8 passengers, 8 large suitcases, with a separate luggage area behind the seats.
- Business Minibus (Mercedes-Benz Sprinter) — 15 passengers with luggage space for the whole group, which is what makes it the right answer for a ski week or a film crew even when the headcount alone would fit a van.
Six travellers with six suitcases fill two sedans exactly, with nothing to spare. Add a seventh bag, a pram, a set of skis or a golf case and the arithmetic collapses at the kerb. If you are not sure your luggage fits, write what you are carrying in the booking notes — we confirm the vehicle or suggest a bigger one before you pay, which is a great deal easier than solving it on the pavement.
One vehicle, or several — your call
A large group in one vehicle is usually cheaper, simpler and calmer: one price, one driver, one arrival, everybody together with the bags. But several cars is a legitimate choice, and there are trips where we would recommend it ourselves:
- Two parties who want to travel separately. Two families sharing a holiday do not necessarily want to share the ride — two V-Class vans, two fixed prices, two front doors.
- Two addresses. One vehicle doing two drops means the second party sits through the first hotel's arrival. Two cars go straight to their own doors and often finish sooner.
- Two flights. A single vehicle cannot track two flight numbers. Two bookings each follow their own flight, each with its own hour of free waiting.
- One person going somewhere else. The colleague heading straight to a meeting should not sit through a hotel check-in first.
- More luggage than people. Trade-fair materials, camera kit, sports gear — a van plus a sedan is often simpler than moving the whole party up a class.
What we no longer do is treat a convoy as the answer to a big group. If sixteen people land together and want to stay together, that is one coach, not three cars in traffic.
Above fifteen: one vehicle, not a convoy
Midibuses and coaches are arranged on request rather than through the booking form, because the vehicle and the price depend on the route, the date and how much luggage travels with you. Send the dates, the group size and the route through the contact page and we confirm the vehicle and a fixed price before you commit — the same fixed-price logic as the cars, just a bigger vehicle. Conferences at Messukeskus, sports camps, cruise groups and company away-days are routine work on this scale.
What the price covers
Whatever the size of the vehicle, the booking includes the same things:
- One price for the vehicle, all taxes in, agreed when you book and unchanged by traffic, luggage or a delayed flight.
- Meet and greet inside the Terminal 2 arrivals hall with a sign showing your name — not at the kerb and not at the rank.
- Flight tracking, so the pickup follows the actual landing, with 60 minutes of free waiting included.
- Child seats on request — contact us before booking with the children's ages so we can confirm availability and price; once agreed, they are fitted before the car leaves for the airport.
- A receipt suitable for expense reporting, which matters when the finance department is paying.
Booking a group
Each vehicle is its own booking, so a group travelling in two cars makes two bookings. In each one:
- Give the name and mobile number of whoever travels in that vehicle. We use that number if anything changes on the day, so it needs to be a phone that will be switched on in Helsinki.
- Add the flight number for that vehicle's passengers. The pickup follows the actual landing, not the timetable.
- List the luggage, including anything unusually shaped.
- Mention the other vehicles in the notes, so the whole movement is handled as one arrival.
For 16 and more, skip the form and send us the details in one message instead — we plan the vehicle and quote a fixed price for the group as a whole.
